This project on Pangbourne Avenue involved the interior design and refinement of a contemporary Ladbroke Road townhouse for a highly cultured couple downsizing from their larger family home in Notting Hill. As owners of art galleries specialising in Old Master paintings, and long-standing collectors of modern and mid-century furniture, the clients required interiors that could sensitively balance classical art with a distinctly contemporary architectural backdrop.
The brief centred on creating a calm, refined living environment that would allow their extensive art and furniture collections to take centre stage. Working within a modern, light-filled architectural framework, we developed interiors that act as a carefully considered canvas; restrained in palette, confident in proportion and rich in material quality. Each space was designed to support the juxtaposition of historic artworks with iconic modern design pieces, allowing both to coexist harmoniously.
Throughout the townhouse, bespoke joinery, tailored lighting and considered spatial planning were used to frame key artworks and furniture pieces, ensuring the interiors felt curated rather than styled. The result is a series of elegant, contemporary rooms that feel layered, personal and intellectually rich; reflecting the clients’ deep knowledge of art, design and craftsmanship.
This Pangbourne Avenue townhouse exemplifies our expertise in high-end residential interior design, art-led interiors, and bespoke contemporary homes in London, delivering a sophisticated yet highly liveable space perfectly suited to this new chapter of the clients’ lives.
