Renovation and Loft Conversion of a Victorian Dublin Townhouse
This project involved the complete renovation of a Victorian period townhouse on Morehampton Road, Dublin 4, for a family of five. The brief was to create a home that blended elegant, classic contemporary design with highly practical spaces tailored to modern family living. As specialists in Victorian home renovation, heritage refurbishment, and high-end residential design in Dublin, we approached the project with a focus on elevating both functionality and architectural character.
The original ground-floor layout did not make full use of the available footprint, so we reconfigured the plan to introduce a more open, fluid arrangement that enhances natural light and improves the flow between key rooms. An underused dining room was transformed into a warm, inviting living space, while a bespoke built-in banquette created a far more practical and comfortable dining area suited to the rhythm of daily life.
A new loft conversion provided valuable additional accommodation, carefully designed to retain and restore important period features that define the home’s Victorian charm. Throughout, we balanced timeless design with durable, family-friendly finishes and bespoke joinery, ensuring every space feels refined, functional and grounded in the property’s heritage.
The result is a calm, welcoming home that unites contemporary living with the elegance of a restored Victorian townhouse; a considered example of period home renovation in Dublin 4 delivered with craft, clarity and care.
